GOAL

Picture
Evaluation of the efficacy of photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy in the prevention  of acute radiodermatitis in breast cancer patients

STUDY DESIGN

Picture
Placebo-controlled, randomized trial with breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy after a breast sparing surgery at the Jessa Hospital (NCT02443493) from April 2015 until June 2017
Control group (n=60)
Laser group (n=60)
Standard skin care
Standard skin care
Radiotherapy (standard regimen)
Radiotherapy (standard regimen)
Placebo treatment (2x/week, from start radiotherapy)
PBM (2x/week, from start radiotherapy)
